Birat Deaf Secondary School

A public educational trust

Birat Deaf Secondary School is a community based school established in the year 2005 as a public educational trust to confirm the right to education to the hearing impaired children of the marginalized and under-privileged section of the mostly, rural community. It is the outcome of the effort made by Koshi Deaf Assocation and 25 personalities from educationists, human rights activists, social workers and professionals to fulfill the need of a secondary level quality education institution with residential facility in Eastern Region of Nepal.

Only school in nepal to provide civil engineering course in grade nine and ten catering deaf students.

With the kind cooperation and efforts of various government, non-government, community based, business organizations and individuals, the school has made a leap forward by providing the access to education to the target group. I express my sincere thanks to all those who have contributed to realize these efforts.

The school based on the public-private-community partnership model, is exemplary in the region. Despite our efforts to provide quality education, the infrastructure and facilities in the school and incentives for our teaching and non-teaching staffs is meager. We humbly request everyone for your generous support to uplift the quality of education to differently abled children and the morale of our hard working team.
